posted on August 16, 2016 by steve

Look here to see when your wood prop or carbon blades were made!  If you have the serial number, you can look up the approximate date of manufacture for Sensenich wooden propellers and carbon composite blades.

Service Bulletin SB2016-06

posted on June 2, 2016 by Steve Boser

Sensenich has released Service Bulletin SB2016-06 for aircraft hub model 2A0J5 installed on direct drive engines, including Jabiru and UL Power.  This SB does not apply towards the newer "3 hole" style hub with removable pitch setting gages, or towards other Sensenich 2 blade aircraft hubs, such as those used on Rotax engines.

We recently updated our installation instructions for wooden aircraft propellers with damage limits for fabric tipping damage.  Here is the link to revision B instructions.

Sensenich is proud to introduce its latest in a long line of successful ground adjustable composite propellers for LSA and Homebuilt aircraft. Designed specifically for Van’s RV class of aircraft, this new propeller features Sensenich’s highly successful proprietary airfoils on a semi-scimitar planform for improved takeoff and climb performance. The blades are internal pressure molded using prepreg carbon fiber and fiberglass, featuring a co-cured leading edge erosion shield, and includes an anodized aluminum hub.  This propeller will definitely turn heads at your next fly-in.

We have been testing and refining this prop for three years, getting it right before introduction to the public. This is the first composite prop available for the RV series of aircraft that complies with the requirements of ASTM F2506, and offers a high-performance alternative for builders of Van’s designs.

As with all Sensenich composite props, the RV prop features  easy pitch blade indexing, with no need for protractors or other such tools; both blades achieve the same pitch, simultaneously; then tighten the bolts, put on the available balanced, pre-cut carbon spinner, and fly.  Changing pitch on any Sensenich ground adjustable propeller takes literally less time than it takes to remove the spinner.

As light and smooth-running as wood, and as tough as metal, the Sensenich RV prop offers options neither can match: climb or cruise; speed or economy. And its shiny black signature shape makes it stand out on any flight line.

The current 72” diameter RV prop is designed to work on Lycoming O-320 engines, with more engine options currently being tested. Total weight of the complete prop is 18 lbs.

The Sensenich RV prop is available for $3500.00 through Sensenich OEMs, retailers or factory-direct, with deliveries starting in March 2013.
