The polishing operation uses very fine grit abrasives to bring the propeller surface a near smooth and consistant finish. At this point thickness and chord widths are brought into tolerances using templates and calipers. Balance is again verified at this point.
The buffing operation uses a rouge applied to a rag wheel for removing all machining marks and blemishes, leaving a bright, shiny aluminum finish that is ready for alodine.
