COMPLETED--A project has been established with the FAA to vibration test and certify the 72FM8 propeller. Certification is not required before we can sell a propeller; however, a project must be established for our vibration test results to be accepted by the FAA. We are planning to test the propeller on both hollow and solid crankshaft O-360's.
COMPLETED--The propeller used for the performance test will be conformity inspected by the FAA and approved for the vibration test.
COMPLETED--After the inspection, the propeller will be strain gaged (See picture below--this is not the 72FM8 propeller) and the vibration testing can begin.
COMPLETED--The MIDO office will assist us with the final inspections and paperwork for the Type Certification testing.
COMPLETED--Following the FAA inspection of the installation, the survey equipment will be installed and tested.
COMPLETED--At the completion of the vibration flight test, the data will be reduced and analyzed. If all stresses are within acceptable limits the propeller will be available for sale immediately on an experimental basis. See the preceding page for anticipated delivery dates.
After the vibration test results are forwarded to the FAA a 50 hour flight test must be completed, after which the propeller will be FAA Type Certified.
