Stain Gages

Shown above is a typical strain gage installation for measuring vibratory stresses. The gage is .25 inches in width and .75 inches in length. Wires are run from each gage to the trailing edge and then radially to the hub.
The wires from each gage are then run from the trailing edge of the blade to terminal pads near the hub. Chosen gages are jumpered to the telemetry unit that sends the stress signals to a tape recorder for permenant data storage.
